Katie Harrigan

How has theatre impacted your life?
Theatre has given me a purpose and has helped me learn who I truly am.

What is one lesson you’ve learned from theatre?
I’ve learned that not everything can go the way you plan it, and that’s OK. You just have to learn to work around it.

What has been your favorite theatre experience so far?
My favorite theatre experience is being a Student Thespian Officer and playing a part in running the New Jersey Thespian Festival. It taught me leadership skills and brought me closer to the other STOs.

Who is your theatre hero?
My theatre hero is Sutton Foster because she reminds me a lot of myself. She’s quirky and funny and isn’t afraid to be herself no matter what.

What theatrical character or show best describes your life?
I closely relate to Bea from the musical Something Rotten! because she’s always trying to help and do the same things as her husband [despite the fact that she’s a woman during the English Renaissance]. I can relate to her ambition.
