Our Commitment

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) is committed to ensuring that our digital services are accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We are actively working to improve the accessibility of our websites and digital platforms in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Scope

This statement covers the following EdTA-owned digital properties:

  • schooltheatre.org – EdTA’s primary public website
  • learn.schooltheatre.org – EdTA’s Learning Center (member access)
  • myedta.schooltheatre.org – EdTA’s member portal (member access)
  • Higher Logic – member community and engagement platform
  • OpenWater – awards and performance submission platform (member access)
  • eShow – event registration platform

Current Accessibility Status

EdTA has conducted an initial accessibility assessment of its digital properties. We have identified areas that do not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Known issues include:

  • Some images on schooltheatre.org are missing descriptive alternative text
  • Color contrast ratios on schooltheatre.org do not meet minimum requirements in some areas
  • Heading structure on some pages does not follow a logical sequential order
  • Some custom components in the member portal and Learning Center have not yet been independently audited

Third-Party Platforms

Portions of EdTA’s digital services run on third-party platforms. Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) for these platforms are available upon request where published by the vendor:

  • Salesforce Experience Cloud – member portal platform (ACR available)
  • LearnDash LMS – learning center platform (ACR available)
  • WordPress – website platform (accessibility statement available)
  • Higher Logic – community platform (accessibility statement available; WCAG 2.1 AA audit in progress)
  • OpenWater – awards submission platform (accessibility documentation requested from vendor)
  • eShow – event registration platform (accessibility documentation requested from vendor)

Remediation Plan

EdTA is committed to addressing identified accessibility issues across all digital properties. We are targeting full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance by April 2027. Remediation efforts include addressing missing image alternative text, improving color contrast, correcting heading structure, conducting accessibility reviews of custom platform components, and working with third-party vendors to obtain or improve their accessibility documentation.
