How has theatre impacted your life?
Theatre has given me a path into my future. I have always loved to perform as a member of music and choral groups. In high school, theatre became another way I can express myself. It has given me the skills and tools to continue to love performing for the rest of my life.

What is one lesson you’ve learned from theatre?
Theatre taught me to be unafraid to try new things and meet new people. It is amazing to be surprised by myself and by others, recognizing what we can do and who we can become.

What has been your favorite theatre experience so far?
My favorite theatre experience was performing Lin-Manuel Miranda’s 15-minute musical, 21 Chump Street, on the Chapter Select stage at the International Thespian Festival my sophomore year. It was the first time I performed as an actor, and it felt so natural. This experience helped me realize that performing is what I want to do forever.

Who is your theatre hero?
My theatre heroes are Jeremy Jordan and Shoshana Bean. I aspire to have their talent and experience, and they inspire me to continue to work really hard to continue doing what I love beyond high school and college.

What theatrical character or show best describes your life?
The character that best describes my life is probably Orpheus from Hadestown because, like him, I am always striving to find moments to create something beautiful and be the best version of myself.
